Accuracy matters in data entry
A transposed digit may be more costly than a slightly slower pace. Read each group, keep a steady keypad rhythm and correct visible mistakes before moving on.
The result reports both KPH and accuracy. Compare like-for-like formats because punctuation and field changes naturally reduce raw speed.
Keep the format as well as the digits
Treat separators, decimal points and leading zeros as part of the value you are copying. A date can contain the right digits in the wrong order, and a missed decimal point can change an amount. Follow the displayed format rather than substituting the format you normally use.
These synthetic entries let you practice movements used when transcribing records without using customer information. The test measures copying the displayed text; it does not assess spreadsheet navigation, validation rules or the other steps in an actual data-entry job.
KPH projects correct keystrokes per hour from this attempt. Review accuracy and corrected errors alongside it, then compare attempts with similar formats. Use the 10-key test to isolate keypad fluency, or number practice to work on recurring digit patterns.
