Typing basics

Four simple things to know

How speed is calculated

Net WPM divides correctly typed characters by five, then by elapsed minutes. Raw WPM includes every typed character.

What accuracy means

Accuracy compares correct keystrokes with all attempted keystrokes, including mistakes you later correct.

How to improve

Practise clean movement at a sustainable pace, then target the keys and transitions shown in your result.

Why daily practice matters

Short, repeatable sessions make technique easier to retain and progress easier to compare.
