Practice the transitions between sentences
Paragraph typing combines ordinary words with commas, periods, capitals and spaces. Read a little ahead while keeping your place in the current word. Pay attention to the movement from a sentence ending to the next capital letter, where a fluent word drill can become less comfortable.
This test finishes when you complete the passage. Elapsed time determines WPM, so a longer paragraph does not automatically mean a lower score. Your result reflects how quickly and accurately you transcribed that particular text.
Compare passages with similar demands
An unfamiliar word or dense punctuation can interrupt your rhythm. Review missed words and corrections before repeating the passage, then try fresh text to check whether your accuracy carries over.
Keep language, keyboard and passage difficulty similar when tracking progress. For a fixed-length measurement, choose a timed test. For a troublesome comma, quote or Shift-key transition, use punctuation or capital-letter practice before returning to full paragraphs.

TypingTestDaily divides correct characters by five, then by elapsed minutes, to calculate net WPM. Accuracy compares correct keystrokes with all attempted keystrokes.
