Learn key locations before chasing WPM
Begin with the home-row lessons if you are new to touch typing. Use the finger guidance to learn each reach, then return to the starting position without looking down. Later lessons extend those movements to other rows, capitals, punctuation and connected text.
Read the lesson goal before you begin. Work slowly enough to repeat the intended movement accurately; finishing a drill quickly is less useful if you still need to search for every key.
Decide whether to review or move on
Use the lesson result and progress indicators to identify material worth revisiting. If the same key keeps causing errors, repeat its lesson before adding more keys. You can return to an earlier lesson whenever a movement feels uncertain.
Once the drill feels comfortable, try ordinary paragraph typing to combine those skills in unfamiliar words. Lessons teach the movements; focused practice reinforces weak patterns, and timed tests help you measure how fluently you use them together. Progress is saved in this browser when local storage is available.
